Advanced Paint Correction 202

Advanced Paint Correction 202

Take your paint correction skills beyond the basics, and learn how to properly refine, cut, inspect and finish paint like a professional detailer.

Advanced Paint Correction 202 is designed for detailers and enthusiasts who want to move beyond basic polishing and start properly understanding the art of paint correction. This isn’t just about removing swirls, it’s about learning how to assess paint systems, choose the right pad and compound combinations, refine your technique with a car polisher, and consistently chase high-end results safely and efficiently. Whether you’re looking to improve your own vehicles or sharpen your professional detailing skills, this course gives you practical, hands-on experience using professional-grade buffing machines, lighting and correction methods.

Throughout the day, we dive into the finer details that genuinely separate average polishing from proper correction work. You’ll learn how to inspect paint properly, measure paint depth, work around intricate areas safely, improve finishing quality and understand why certain combinations work better on different paint systems. We also cover common mistakes we see all the time, like overworking sections, poor pad selection or relying too heavily on aggressive compounds, helping you build a much safer and more repeatable correction process moving forward.

The Purpose of the Class:

Advanced Paint Correction 202 is designed to bridge the gap between basic machine polishing and genuinely understanding professional-level paint correction. The goal of the course is to help students build confidence with a car polisher and develop a safer, more consistent correction process, not just chase quick results. We focus heavily on technique, paint assessment, product and pad selection, and understanding how different paint systems react during correction, so students leave with practical skills they can actually apply in the real world.

Our Teaching Objective:

Our objective is to simplify paint correction without watering it down. We want students to properly understand the “why” behind the process, why certain pads cut harder, why finishing can become difficult on softer paints, why lighting and paint inspection matter so much, and how to approach correction work methodically instead of guessing. By the end of the course, students should feel significantly more comfortable using a buffing machine, refining paint safely, troubleshooting common polishing issues and achieving higher quality correction results with more consistency.

Program Delivery:

This is a hands-on, small group training course designed to maximise learning time and individual support. With class sizes capped at just 5 students, there is plenty of opportunity to ask questions, work directly with different machines, pads and compounds, and receive guidance throughout the day. The course combines theory, live demonstrations and practical correction work to help students properly understand both the technical side of paint correction and the physical techniques required to achieve professional-level results.
